Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian gymnast (born on the 12th of November, 1961, in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onestiin Gheorghe Gheorghiu dej, now Onesti Romania). She was first gymnast to score a perfect 10 in an Olympic event. Bela Karalyi came across Comaneci at the age of six. She would later become the gymnastics coach of Romania. Comaneci competed for the first time at the national junior championships, placing 13th. Following that, she became champion. At her first international event in 1972, which was a pre Olympic junior competition for communist-bloc nations she took home three gold medals while in 1973 and 1974 she was all-around junior champion. She won against Russian Lyudmila Torishcheva. The five-time European Champion in her first international senior championship in 1975. She won four golds and a silver. She was the winner of the American Cup in New York City in 1976 and became the first woman to attempt backward double salto as dismounting from the bar that is uneven. Her journey in the entertainment business started in her teens when she began doing figure skating with her younger cousin Nina Wayne as part of the shows that traveled around named Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne is a U.S. citizen born on 6 September, 1942, in Chicago Illinois. Carol began her professional career as an entertainer during her teenage years. In her early years Carol started out as a figure skater on the show Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. They featured ice-skating and other shows, which were also accompanied with theatrical music.
