Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American singer-dancer and actress. One of her first Broadway productions included Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. For her role as Essie In You Can't Take It With You she was awarded the Tony Award. Annaleigh has been collaborating in projects with award-winning directors, actors, and producers throughout her career. Ashford will be next starring alongside Kumail Nanjiani, on Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It premieres on the 22nd of November. Ashford's upcoming project includes the Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust, starring alongside Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. This film is part of a Hulu Original and will be streamed via Disney DTC. It will be released in 2023, March. Ashford returns to Broadway and will be starring alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. This production will be produced by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team who created Hamilton. Ashford's last part was that of Paula Jones on Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on a nationwide scandal that involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky, and Linda Tripp. Ashford starred for two seasons in CBS popular comedy B Positive. It was produced by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. The show featured Linda Lavin, Hector Elizondo, and Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. Her performance as Essie in You Can't Take It with You won her the Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the originating part of Lauren of Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway credits. Ashford splits her life between Los Angeles & New York. Her birthplace was in Denver and grew up there.
